TMOM was performed by TM TT as well as the Japanese session. TM TA took the role of Word of the Day and she chose “amazing”, showing positive and praise meaning. So it was easier word for us to use.
In the prepared speech, TM SN gave a speech about histories of DNA research. It was scientific and specific. Probably it may have been a bit difficult for him to make his speech more understandably for other members.
In the table topic session, the master was TM. YS She prepared four different topics. All of them were interesting. 1) At your son’s sport meeting in school, he told you that I am chicken and I can’t run. As his parent how you can encourage him? 2) You are correcting stamp cards for shopping. How do you use them? 3) You were allowed to take one day off. How do you spend that day? 4) What is your most favorite food?
In the evaluation session, TM CT served as the general evaluator. TM SY evaluated TM SN’s speech. He raised two good points of his speech and one point for improvement. He pointed, in the last slide, the letters were too small to read for us and if he would have used bigger fonts with showing only a few key words but not long sentences, he could have given more impact in conclusion.
TM SY closed his evaluation by encouraging TM SN, so his way of evaluation was amazing.
In the general evaluation, TM CT mentioned the overall impression about the meeting and gave meaningful and constructive suggestions to improve the meeting quality.
We started English session with Word of the day “be prepared” from ™ Y. I think this word is easy to speak. Actually I use the word before I knew it, since we usually have “prepared” speech session.
™ T, 1st speaker in English session, he illustrated bread machine for family user. He regretted “If I had presented my bread, I could improve my speech.”
I have the same opinion as you do. It was really delicious bread.
™ Om, 2nd speaker in English session, started from riding on a motorbike.“It’s gonna happen.” we were attracted by him at the beginning.
Table topics session led by ™ N. I am sorry to inform you that I was so busy because I was unexpectedly called on for General Evaluator, not to excuse for myself, so I was not able to get hear the theme and topics.
And also in evaluation session, all I could come up with was to learn my part line by line. ™ T evaluate for first speaker.
™ Y evaluated for second speaker
I am really sorry for you both.
And I mixed up the order. I thought we were going to general evaluating first.
A meeting requires a balance between talking and listening, I lost that balance.
Anyways I managed to get out the meeting for the first time in a while.
Held a regular meeting with many active members including guests.
I joined it for the first time in 3 or 4 months and found each speaker tried to make a gesture to express their own episode and evaluation more proactive than before.
As Word of the day, some kinds of English sentence such as “I’m rooting for you” given by TM S.
In prepared speech, three speakers, TM Y.S, TM R.S and TM N made a presentation about past funny and weird expriences.
It became a warm day even though we entered in November.
Today’s TMOM was a veteran, TM KM. On the last holiday, he took a walk around the lake Tanzawa. He enjoyed the suspension bridge and taking pictures.
Word of the Day was “Natural” by TM YN. His message was “You don’t have to be too positive. You can just relax and being your regular self will lead to the best condition.”
The first prepared speech was persuasive speaking, “From my experience, conquering the Cold Call”. It was a speech for advanced speakers, reaching 15 minutes. In the first half, he explained about the information system industry where he works and the background of acquisition of order entry. In the second half, he performed a role play that he sells a large-scale security system to a major airplane company as a sales representative.
The Table Topic was about trip by TM NS. Firstly, she talked about her episodes about her trips to Hokkaido and Spain enjoyably and vividly. Then, she asked the following questions.
- Could you tell us your favorite place you found during your trip?
TM NH: Ishikawa, beautiful rice field (Senmaida)
- Do you have your recommendation as a souvenir?
TM M: White Lover
- What is your qualification for trip? Where would like to go and why?
TM AM: South Korea, to have Korean BBQ with his family
- Did you have an experience something like you’re appreciative but, actually, it was embarrassing?
TM YS: A lot of row Ginko
Coincidently, TM NS and the respondents talked about food such as salmon and White Lover in Hokkaido, soft cream in Ishikawa prefecture, sea food in Spain, grilled beef in Korea, Ginko and so on and we enjoyed delicious episodes.
The speech evaluation was performed by DTM, TM KO. It was a specialized and an informative speech but the overall structure was divided, which was easy to understand. TM AM explained business terminology such as Blue Ocean and Red Ocean clearly by using a chart. After TM KO admired him, he advised about the last role play. If he communicates by including each other’s introduction and ice break, it might be a natural dialogue.
The general evaluator was TM SY. He looked backed on today’s English session and wrapped it up.
