The 164th Southern Beach Toastmasters Club Meeting
It started with a cordial greeting from President TM NaY. “Today is special. It is our club’s annual big event, Aloha Meeting.” he announced.
Next, guests were introduced. Today, we welcomed 13 toastmasters from other clubs and 3 visitors.
TMOM was TM NaM. She proceeded with the program as prearranged. The education session started.
TM Sak was in charge of Word of the Day (WOD). She chose “flexibility”.
Next, the supporters of the meeting were introduced and explained their roles. Grammarian was TM Alb, Timer was TM HaN, Vote counter was TM YaS, and Ah counter was TM NaY.
The meeting moved on to the Prepared Speech Session. The first speaker was TM Yam.The speech project was CC #1 ”The Ice Breaker” and the title was “Unforgettable Journey”. It was an interesting story.

The second speaker was TM HoN. The speech project was CC#10 ”Inspire Your Audience” and the title was “Tips to Improve Your Human Relationship”. It was an inspiring speech.
The next session was the Table Topics session. TM MiT was TT master.
TM Oba answered question 1 “What is your least favorite food?” He said Tonnkatsu (a deep-fried breaded cutlet of pork) was his least favorite and at the same time it was his favorite.
TM Aok answered question 2 “What is your sweet memory on summer beach?” It was a lot of fun.
TM Yam answered question 3 “What is your favorite speech you’ve ever heard in TM meetings?” She mentioned all speeches she’d ever heard were amazing. She couldn’t choose one.
TM Sat answered question 4 “Who do you want to meet?” Her speech about Kamehameha the Great made us laugh.
TM Kan answered question 5 “How do you manage your anger?” He said, “Drink some water, and you’ll calm down.” It was a very convincing story.
Next, the evaluation session.
It was conducted by General Evaluator TM TaC. The first evaluator for TM Yam was TM AoT. It was a comment that his Ice Breaker was successful and it would be better if he knew how effectively and dramatically his message can be conveyed.
The second evaluator for TM HoN was TM MiK. It was a comment that he congratulated on her accomplishing CC#10 and it would be better if she tried to put emphasis on inspiring.
The first half ended. The last half began.
The last half began. TMOM was TM NaM. This was when the long-awaited event came.
“Aloha, aloha!” TM Sug lead Hula Workshop in a festive mood.We learned a hand sign called Shaka which meant hang loose and we took a hula lesson. We danced the hula to the tune of hula music played by Mr.Kun. It was awesome!
After Hula Workshop, the reports for WOD, grammar and ah counter were made by their supporters. Next, General Evaluator gave comprehensive evaluation of the meeting. She summed up by expressing her heartfelt thanks to all participants.
We held the second party after Aloha Meeting at another place.We had another spree at a Hawaiian food restaurant.
TM Sak and Ms.Shi performed their beautiful hula dance and gave us a Fula lesson.
We all had a wonderful time.
